Proverbs 19:1

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips and is a fool. KJV

What legacy are we going to leave behind when we leave this world? Are we working on it or just occasionally thinking about it, if at all?

In this chapter, we see many different types of people based on what they do or value. These people are known, and many are labeled and categorized by what they do or believe. Know it or not, those labels are the legacy they are leaving.

A sure sign that someone is on the wrong course in life and is missing the mark is seen in verses 1-7. Verse 8 is the target we should be aiming for. As we have read previously the fear of the Lord proceeds wisdom and understanding. The path to developing a Godly legacy begins there but does not end there, as we see in verse 23.

The world values wealth, power, possessions, and many more as this chapter makes clear. What God values is a Godly legacy, and what God values He blesses. Deuteronomy 30:19
