Amos 7-9

Prayer! The Road Home

As we finish up the book of Amos today we realize the power of prayer in Chapter 7:2 &5.  It did not matter that Amos was a herdsman and a grower of sycamore figs and not a priest nor a prophet.  What did matter was that he was willing, faithful, and obedient. God showed him what was to come. As opposition increased against him, God gave Amos a mighty message in the chapters that followed which describe the Great Tribulation, the Lord’s return as King, the restoration of Israel, and the millennial reign of our Lord and King.

Like Amos, God wants to use us as well.  He has given us the ability and the things we need to do His will. Like Amos, the more willing we are to serve God the more He will be able to use us. God has a path He wants the Church to travel. The first step at the beginning of that path is a prayer of commitment or recommitment. Every path we take in life has a destination. We need to make sure we are on the right path if we are to get to the right destination.

Here is some homework to help on the journey.
